I have been using Linkmatic on two sites for over two years. It's brilliant.

Not a bad script, but the interface is quite strange for web surfers. There are no sub-directories to use and users cannot organize this index well.

Very customizable with just a bit of perl knowledge. The actual code is well written and commented allowing easy "tweaking."

There are better ones out there, but this is a nice one to check into IF you aren't too serious about it, or if links aren't the main feature of your site.

Incredibly ugly and confusing to use...

For a free link script this would have to be the best available -- it is easy to setup and configure -- try it its worth it. The only thing that would be nice for it to provide is the ability to rank the results of a search.
