| The script (light version) installs quite easily which was refreshing. But it doesn't seem to do anything. No way to add members. Nothing on the admin screen shows how to add members and there is no sign-up script. Plus, they put you though a lot of bother to send you the script. |

| Very disappointing. This product should not be on sale. Indeed, it’s more like a work in progress than a fully functional, clean and working script. There are errors in the coding that need fixing before installation. Likewise, there are errors in spelling/grammar. The admin panel is easy to use, but it sometimes fails and not all of the features in there work. |

| Pro Version very poorly written and is more of a beta stage than actually a clean working program. The price of $95 is a rip off. Don't purchase this product. Spelling errors that will make you look stupid to your customers, admin errors and no functioning bill paying options. |

| The free version is all anyone but big paying sites could want for member security. And for the big sites, there is the pro version. In one place I am using version 1.6 and it is light years ahead of almost any current free offerings. I have 13,500 entries on it and it is still not slow for the user. Really a great bit of work. |

| This is a very easy script to install - one of the best. However, it forces your users to login through a page containing all sorts of warnings against using Locked Area scripts improperly or stealing code. Not the kind of thing I want my users to see when signing up. Plus, the Locked Area graphics, logos, and links are all over the place. Makes it look like their site, not mine. You can't make changes to paths through the web control panel, but you're warned not to make manual edits. |

| Excellent script! The install.cgi was a dream come true! I wish more scripts offered this! Once I got it working I customized it without a single problem! It fits right in with my website now, background, graphics, fonts, colors, etc. There wasn't one thing I could find wrong with this script. Especially the price! I definately give this one an A+! |

| I had some problems with the script. One of the most inconvenient problems was with the images that Locked Area used. They were calling from all different directories. I worked around it by installing the images in several locations. Suggested improvements, figure that problem out and include an option to use SMTP instead of just SendMail. |

| I don't usually give a script a 10 rating, but this script deserves it. Very easy to configure and a wealth of options to customize if you purchase the pro version or not. I highly recommend the pro version as it has more options, but you will be hard pressed to find a better free password protection script than this. |

| Permission stated in the docs do not work on all server types. I'm on a dedicated, and just can't seem to get the script to run from within a directory that has been set to 777. This script is also spyware. It sends some of your data back to the author to track its usage. |

| Lock Area is the only password system you will ever need. You can protect a member's area, manage users, bulk email your members, automatically email passwords at sign up - even installation is automatically handled using a CGI installer! I can honestly say that I have never received better service from a company. Well done Lockarea.com--Keep up the good work! |
