Easy script, lousy membership and extremely rude customer service. They couldn't answer my questions and kept the fee even though I let them know within three days I wanted a refund.

Good script and easily workable. Hacks need to be reworked for more firewall accessibility. Other than that its cool.

Says to config the manager.cgi file, but it doesn't exist in the .tar or .zip file.

Great script. It's free, what kind of documentation do you expect with free? Get a book! Easily customizable, and this was the first CGI script for me to work with. My store uses custom HTML pages and calls the script to add items or check out. This allows you to make your store look any way you want it to.

Really poor documentation. A good script, but it assumes that all users are familiar with Unix.

Good, and if you go on their web site you can get an NT version too!

Anybody who says this script is bad should hire someone to do their shopping cart because they're obviously idiots. One of the best scripts I've seen to date.

Easy to setup and use. It is only missing a process to print and mail payments.

A couple of things increase my ratings on this product: The ability to customize the program in almost endless ways and the prompt online support from the creator via a mailing list, BBS and members' area. Documentation could use some improvement, but generally the main problem seems to be the assumption that new installers may have slightly more experience with CGI scripts and the Unix environment. Once installed, the shop works very well.

Excellent shopping cart. Very flexible if you are able to do some coding. Even without coding, the cart offers the use of option files which is fantastic. There is a full BBS and mail list support forum which is very useful. Prices cannot be edited by manipulating the HTML code as stated above unless the HTML resides on your server.

It looked ok at first, but suddenly the Manager.cgi file won't work. Once I figured out how to fix it, then came the poor search abilities. Out of 10 searches the script only got 1 right! Then one would notice the faulty instructions on working with .htaccess files and the script is too limited to only american orders. This script is certainly not flexible and fool proof enough to get my approval.

I can't believe this cart has gotten so many high marks. Besides poor documentation, I found that prices can easily be manipulated by editing the html. This is not good.

When it is beyond 200 items, the script becomes slower. Better to make each category a single flat file.

Great script, but the only thing missing is it doesn't generate thumbnail images.

No installation instructions and the download contains a bunch of advertisements. If you are going to take the time to put all that "junk" in a zip file and lead people on with a non-essential readme file that just says see ya at our web site then it would have been easier to be user friendly and easier to create a readme file or provide installation instructions. Sorry, I trashed the script because of all the mumble jumble in just trying to sort through the junk.

New version is excellent, easily installed (RAQ3) and is very configurable. Great for novices.

This is a great shopping cart script. The best of all is it's free to use and modify to fit your needs. Options are better than most commercial shopping carts.

I was hired a while back to help someone put together a commerce site and thought this looked great going in, but as things went along they got more and more confusing. Tech help was not very helpful. I ended up just ditching it and going with something else. Could be I just didn’t get it, but I think the install and configuration could be worked on.

Easiest setup ever! This script is highly configurable and they also have a great "user based" support forum.

I would recommend this for smaller e-commerce sites (under 150 products). Nice integration with several merchants or choose offline processing.

I needed a script for a customer who wanted to maintain his own product list. This one was perfect. The setup was easier than other free scripts I've tried.

Not exactly something simple, users on their forums are most confused also. I believe this is due to the fact that this script is mostly oriented to create clients for the programmers. Looking at it from that perspective is a great idea. Anyone looking for a good freebie here is going to find many configuration obstacles.

Now, this is a rockin' script. The author did a great job at revamping this script from the previous author, but it could use some more work on the templates. I hope he DOESN'T stop upgrading this one as it would be a shame if he did; a tad bit difficult get it up and running, but well worth the time spent installing this baby. I actually use this script on one of my domains if that says something about this script.

Great program, except that it requires telnet, which very few normal users have. It also has poor documentation, the worst I have seen for setting up something so complicated.

Tried six scripts for a project, but this was the last and best one. A little complicated to install, but the documentation is precise. Best free shopping cart except for MiniVend.

A bit hard to setup, weak documentation. Needs to be more generic for customization.

Very nice! The only thing I wish it came with was credit card verification and automatically did all the account accessing so that it would pay me on the spot and the money would go directly to my checking account! And for free. You're probably saying dream on... Anyway, it's a nice script.

I set this script up without telenet access. It was the first major script that I ever set up. It did take a while to figure it out, but I was a complete novice. Now, I have a very good store that is easy to admin through the admin interface. It could be prettier. It doesn't need to have the directory setup so convoluted, but when you figure it out it works, darn nice.
